Orthopaedic Surgeon Hip & Knee
Dr. David Broe specialises in hip and knee surgery as well as orthopaedic trauma. He has a particular interest in joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, arthroscopic and ligament reconstruction about the knee as well as arthroscopic/mini-open surgery for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) of the hip.
Dr. Broe graduated with First class honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). He completed the basic surgical training programme in Dublin and received the MRCSI degree. He completed his Orthopaedic training in Sydney in 2010 after attaining his fellowship (FRACS) examination. Following that he did a fellowship in hip and knee replacement surgery and also travelled to Europe to do a fellowship in arthroscopic/sports surgery about the knee.
Dr. Broe has a genuine interest in research and has a number of publications as well as ongoing research projects. He is a Cojoint lecturer for medical students at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and also an examiner for Royal College of Surgeons surgical trainees. He participates strongly in orthopaedic registrar teaching and travels to Tonga with Dr. Solomon to provide voluntary orthopaedic surgery.
